Makayla is HERE!!

So I have decided to try this again.......Now that Makayla has made her arrival in this world I want to keep all our Friends and Family updated on Makayla's firsts. Since most of you live out of town. We are just so overjoyed that our baby girl is here. I just never believed I this day would come and I would be able to bring our newborn home. After our experience last year with our precious Mackenzie it was hard to imagine actually being able to bring a baby home. And now that we are home I wouldn't change it for the world. We are getting into our routine and getting all settled in.

Makayla was born on October 24, 2012 at 10:30 am. She weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 19.5 inches long. She had such a wonderful stay in the hospital. Carolina East Medical Center was by far 100 million times better than our experience last year. I felt so reassured from the beginning of our stay that everything was going to go just fine. We had so many visitors to come give their love to Makayla too. Nana, Papa Tom, Yaya, Papa Dave, Jessica, Leah, Chase, Kim, Kathy, Shannon, Adam, Krista, Madi, Sherrine, Brandy, Aunt Claudia, Uncle Robert, Uncle Chris and Brandy. Auntie Kristen and Heather and Grandma Cathy came to see us when we got home. Thank you to everyone who visited. We greatly appreciated it. Makayla is already loved by so many.

My mom came to stay with us for our first weekend home. She is such a big help and we couldn't thank her enough. We have to just find our routine and I have to learn to sleep when Makayla sleeps. Which is a hard one for me. I am not one to take naps so I have to make myself since I do not get a full nights rest at night. Its a learning process so I will eventually get it. Makayla we have found does not like to really sleep on her back. She will sleep on her tummy on any of us but once we put her in her bassinet at night she wakes right up. We hope this she will out grow since we can let her sleep on her tummy yet.

Makayla has already had some first in these first few days home:

She had her first Bath (wipe down since her umbilical cord is still in)
First tummy time which really ended up being her sleepy time lol. We will work on that.
First time meeting her big sister Minnie. Minnie is already in love and very protective.
First Car ride home from the hospital. She slept the whole way.
First time in the swing. She is just so tiny her little head rolls over to the side.

We can't wait to tell everyone about her next first in the weeks to come.
